250-mile bike ride tribute to Pat will put funds in the pipeline for hospice
A DETERMINED Tamworth man who lost his wife to cancer earlier this year is raising money for St Giles Hospice.
Alan Potts, aged 56, is organising a musical event and a gruelling bike ride in memory of Pat, along with his sons David and Andrew, work colleagues and friends.

The money raised will go to Whittington-based St Giles, where Pat was cared for before she lost her battle with cancer in April.
"They were absolutely fantastic in the care and help they gave to Pat and to us as a family," explained Alan.

Alan and the five workmates who will be joining him, Brad Jones, Terry Jones, Darren Moffatt, Wayne Walton and Peter Woodham-Davies, all work for the British Pipeline Agency. They will be cycling the 250-mile length of the oil pipeline from Ellesmere Port to Southend.
The cyclists will be noticeable in their 'Pretty in Pink' pink T-shirts – specially printed for the event. They are currently in training, regularly cycling up to 70 miles.
Three of the cyclists are planning to cycle the 86 miles to the company's headquarters in Hemel Hempstead on Wednesday, July 4 to officially start the fund-raising.
Tamworth's Dave Owen's cycle shop is sponsoring the cyclists.
The concert will take place later in the year in October.
Pat and Alan were dedicated fans of folk-rock band Lindisfarne. Two former band members, Billy Mitchell and Ray Laidlaw will be performing free of charge at the charity gig at Drayton Manor on October 27.
Drayton Manor are providing the Tower Suite free of charge – at the concert the funds raised will be presented to St Giles representatives.
A raffle is also being held and will be drawn on concert night – prizes include a week away at Sunbeach holiday park in North Wales, M&S vouchers and a tobogganing session, courtesy of The SnowDome, Tamworth.
