TAMWORTH Academy got their season off to a fine start with an impressive win at The Lamb on Sunday.

They opened the scoring in the first half as Alando Lewis released full-back Hoshane Gabbidon who crossed first time for Troy Wallen to power home a header from 12 yards.

Birmingham should have levelled before the break but missed a penalty.

Early second-half pressure paid off for the visitors on 57 minutes, leading to an equaliser, but Tamworth went back in front on 70 minutes through Tom Busby's 20-yard strike.

Eurico Bula sealed the win in the 78th minute when he headed in from close range.
