Advertiser just wasted my time
THERE was an advert in the Herald last week for two items.
I phoned about one of them and the woman said she was just going out. She said I wouldn't be able to go and view it until 6.30pm.
This was arranged and I gave her my name.
The gas man was coming to check my boiler that day. He phoned me to say he was running late and had two more people to call on before me and probably wouldn't be at my home until after 6pm. I told him I was going out to view an item so had to re-schedule the appointment.
My husband wasn't happy as he was watching Aston Villa on the TV and we had to leave halfway through the match.
It was pouring with rain and when we got to the house the woman sent her husband to the door, only to tell us it had been sold. Was I mad!
If she was just going out when I phoned and wasn't going to be back until 6.30am – we arrived exactly on time – how could she have sold it?
Surely, the polite thing to do, if anyone else phoned, would be to say she had someone coming at 6.30pm and to ask for their phone number so she could phone them if we didn't have it?
Thanks a lot for wasting my time, appointment and petrol – not to mention having to miss the match.
