Anchor Inn is sinking fast
THE Anchor Inn is not a thriving pub. Whenever you drive past there are little more than ten people ever in the pub unless they host a funeral.
The pub has been losing money for five years and has attracted some undesirables over the last five years.
It does not have a golf society, the golf society is based at the Dolphin Inn, not the Anchor. I know this as I am on the committee that runs it.
The quiz has not taken place for nine months, the karaoke not since Christmas.
Guaranteed Rent 52 Weeks a Year - even when the property is vacant.

The trips are run by Mr Pete Cooper for his friends and family and they pick up from the Anchor Inn for convenience.
The children's equipment is not up to standard and there is an investigation into the safeness of the equipment and that when the grass is cut there empty hypodermic needles have been found.
As Punch own the property, surely, as the owners of business, they should be allowed to make up their own mind on the profitability of the pub?
But as a former landlord of the pub, I feel it offers nothing to the community – it is drab and all you see at the front of the pub is people smoking.

“What a load of slanderous garbage.... If I was to send this link to the head office at Punch Taverns I don't think they would be too happy to see how the landlord of the Dolphin Inn is so unprofessional about a neighbouring pub, I might add run by the same brewery. Shame on you. Do I hint a spot of jealousy, or are you working with the brewery a disused and not profit pub is easier to close down and be replaced...naughty!!!”
