TAMWORTH AC's young athlete Carys Langham secured an impressive win at the North Warwickshire Primary Schools District Cross-Country Championships.

Representing Warton Nethersole Primary School, Langham won races at Polesworth and Water Orton to gain qualification for the district finals (North Warwickshire, Nuneaton and Bedworth) at Kingsbury Water Park.

She went on to win those finals over a one-mile course.

Megan Day, a newcomer to Tamworth AC and member of the club's academy, ran a good race, taking an excellent sixth representing Woodside Primary School.

Both young athletes have now qualified for the Warwickshire County Primary Schools finals to be held at Newbold Comyn in Leamington on March 20.

Their individual success also helped North Warwickshire win the district girls' team event.
