Casting call for Roald Dahl's witchy classic
THE search is on to find young actors in Tamworth to take part in a stage production of a much-loved Roald Dahl book.
Talented youngsters aged eight to 16 are being urged to audition for a role in the classic children's favourite "The Witches".
The story follows a Grand High Witch's decision to wipe out all the children in the world by turning them into mice.
She hopes to carry out the evil scheme by tricking them all into eating sweets and chocolates from their new-branded shops, which have been poisoned with a magic formula.

This dastardly plan is overheard by a young boy, who just as he is about to consult his wise grandmother on how to defeat a witch, is suddenly turned into a mouse.
The stage adaptation from Class Act will be directed by professional actors and directors from within the industry who are beginning their search for main roles and chorus parts.
The production will be staged next year, with professional training offered to all suitable candidates.
Rehearsals take place in Tamworth on Thursday evenings. Informal trials will be held place at Rawlett High School theatre on November 3 from 6.30pm to 8pm. Trials consist of informal fun group drama workshops. No preparation is necessary. Complete beginners and more advanced performers are welcome.
