The Don waits for return
TAMWORTH super-flyweight Don Broadhurst knows he must be patient as he waits for the chance to put his defeat to Lee Haskins behind him.
Broadhurst lost on points to Haskins in a British and Commonwealth super-flyweight title fight in Newport last December.
He is now eager to get back in the ring and make amends.
But Broadhurst might have to wait until May for a chance.
He said: "I'm back in the gym and am feeling sharp, but I have to be patient.
"I would have liked a fight by now, but it could be that I have to wait until the start of May."
Broadhurst does not know who his opponent will be.
But he could fight on the same bill as Kevin Mitchell, who is due to take on Michael Katsidis in London for the WBO lightweight title.
He said: "That would be nice because I have known Kevin since we were 17 and on the young England squad.
"So seeing him have some success is added motivation for me.
"Not that I need much motivation after the Haskins defeat. Christmas and January were horrible for me.
"To lose without performing was a terrible feeling.
"I have never lost my confidence, but I was down for a while. Now I in the gym working on things and, as I say, I'll be ready to fight when the time comes.
"I need to shake away the cobwebs. I need a big performance when I fight next so that I get the Haskins fight out of my system."
