Fumes make us fear for health
BACK in October 2008 you ran a report highlighting the frustrations of Dosthill and Wilnecote residents as a result of "bad smells" emanating from the landfill site in Dosthill.
We are now suffering acrid fumes not dissimilar to those given off from "burning plastic" on a regular basis and more often than not it is worse at night. This morning (Tuesday, August 24) my wife and I awoke to a house full of this "burning smell" which frankly was unpalatable and almost chokingly so.
Talking with neighbours we share concerns about the health consequences of these fumes and why they are more apparent after normal business hours.
We do not know where these fumes are emanating from but we are aware of an incinerator plant on the Dosthill Landfill Site.
I would be interested to learn the views of other residents on this matter and whether should it be investigated further, perhaps by environment officials?
Mike White, Wilnecote.
