"GIVE our children the best start in life because they are the workforce of the future."

That's the message from Tamworth's business community this week which has joined the fight to secure vital funding for the town's high schools.

Trailblazing for town companies is Amington's Stratique Marketing and PR.

The Amber Close firm is urging all local businesses to follow suit and back the crusade.

"It is important that we do not underestimate the effect that this will have on local enterprise," explained Andrew Wilson, managing director.

"These children will be our workforce and business owners.

"Without the facilities necessary for a proper education, we are denying our children the opportunity to realise their full potential.

"As a parent and a business owner in Tamworth we are calling on all businesses in the area to help support the Herald in its campaign to save our Tamworth schools.

"It is so important that we make sure our children have the best possible start in life.

"After all, these children are the future employees of Tamworth businesses and potentially our future entrepreneurs."

And in a fantastic show of support, Stratique have all been canvassing local businesses to sign our petition.

The company, which has set up a page on its website, www.pr.stratique.com/ saveourschools, dedicated to the cause, is even offering the business who gains the most signatures a free Marketing and PR workshop worth almost £500.

Employers are asked to send your completed petitions to Save Our Schools, Stratique Marketing and PR, 9 Amber Business Village, Amington, Tamworth, B77 4RP by Thursday, September 30. Or call Stratique on 0845 226 3095 to arrange collection.

Completed petitions will be presented to Tamworth MP Christopher Pincher at 2.30pm on October 1.
