Interviews for a mix of full and part-time positions – mainly part-time - are being held on September 26, October 3 and October 10.

Last month, the council also helped in the recruitment of 70 staff for The Range, for its new store opening in the former B & Q on the Tame Valley Industrial Estate. Interviews and induction days were carried out at the council's Marmion House offices.

Cllr Steve Claymore, Cabinet member for Economic Development and Enterprise, said: "We are pleased that we can help and support the Royal Mail, in conjunction with Jobcentre Plus, to recruit an additional 400 members of staff to help with the busy Christmas period.

"That means 400 additional jobs are available in Tamworth and we are delighted to be able to play our part in filling those vacancies by allowing Royal Mail to hold its interviews at the Town Hall."
