League is club's priority
I GUESS if you had told me we could only win one of the three games over the last few days, I would have taken the league one.
But in the grand scheme of things it was very disappointing to go out of both cups.
Tuesday was especially galling with it being a semi-final – at that stage you want to go on and win it.
And with the final being at Vale Park it would have been nice for the lads who were part of the FA Cup run a couple of years ago to go back there.
It is something that had we won, we could have put it to one side until May and had something to look forward to.
So even though people talk about the lesser cups not being as important it was certainly a game we took seriously, it just wasn't our night.
It was in direct contrast to Saturday.
Anyone who was at the game would agree that we bossed it from start to finish.
If it wasn't for their keeper making two or three world-class saves – one in particular from Duncan Horler where I couldn't see how he would get to it but he managed to claw it out – they could have been two or three down at the break with no complaints.
They came out and got a goal against the run of play – which I didn't think was a penalty – but full credit to our lads, we dug in and got what we deserved, even though it came really late.
A few fans were asking why I came off on Saturday but I had been unwell after the Bloxwich game on Thursday and it was 50/50 whether I would play – I got through the first half but didn't feel well at half-time.
Looking ahead, the way Mickleover are going, we need to win every game and just let results elsewhere take their course.
