A LOVELORN crocodile at Drayton Manor Zoo wants a mate – and snappy!

Twenty-two-year-old West African Dwarf Crocodile Jordan was hoping for a little romance as zoo staff signed her up to an online dating service.

She may be cold-blooded, but there's no denying that she has an impressive smile and now, tired of spending her days lounging by the pool with her female rival Jodie, Jordan has a special profile on the dating site 'Plenty of Fish'.

Describing herself as a 'non-smoker and an athletic body type', the feisty Jordan says she likes fish and steak, sunbathing, swimming, wrestling and river cruises.

Her profile reads: "I'm on here to try and find love as I want to be romanced and fed delicious morsels by my new mate.

"Some might say I'm a fast mover but I like the thrill of the chase. I've got all my own teeth and I have a lovely wide smile. My room-mate, Jodie, tells me I have razor sharp wit but that's for you to decide! I have a huge appetite for life."

She lists her favourite films as Jaws and Crocodile Dundee and her favourite song is of course Elton John's Crocodile Rock.

Colin Bryan, the park's managing director, said: "Jordan and Jodie have lived together for three years but we wanted to give Jordan the chance to find true love this Valentine's. So we're hoping the dating site can work its magic for animal varieties too."

Jordan's online profile continues: "Obviously this is a little tongue in cheek but if you do know or work at a zoo with a male crocodile and you can help me find true love, please get in touch!"

One suspects Jordan's parting shot to interested male crocs might be a bit of a fib, though: "Get in touch – I don't bite!"
