M42 blocked after lorry is in collision with a repair truck
A LORRY DRIVER was taken to hospital after his HGV collided with a motorway maintenance vehicle, leaving the M42 blocked.
The crash happened on the southbound carriageway between junctions 11 and 10 at 3.05am on Tuesday (May 29).
Two ambulances and a paramedic were sent to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "On arrival, ambulance crews found a large amount of debris over the carriageway. The HGV had jack-knifed causing considerable damage to the cab.

"The driver, a 47-year-old man, was fortunate to receive only minor injuries. He was immobilised using a neck collar and spinal board as a precaution and was taken to University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire."
The maintenance vehicle was also badly damaged in the crash, although the workers were not in it at the time and were not injured.
