BARTON UNITED 5 POLESWORTH 1

POLESWORTH failed to build on a great start as they slumped to a miserable defeat at Barton.

The Poles took the first opportunity to open the scoring.

A long ball from central midfield gave Jordan Foster the chance to beat Johnny Douglas in defence and he did to fire into the net past Chris Halling.

Barton regrouped and levelled shortly afterwards when a George Stack corner was headed on by Rob Houston for Dale Barton to score.

Barton went in front through Nathan Hunt and Douglas added a third before half time.

Polesworth regained their composure after the break and began to make chances, going close on a number of occasions.

Barton stretched their lead, however, with Greg Smith firing home.

Polesworth continued to battle and again made chances but were unable to find the net and they were punished even further as Houston completed the scoring with Barton's fifth.
