School of dance book surprise new venue ...the local library
A DORDON dance school are tapping their feet inside a brand-new location – the village's revived library.
It may be somewhere renown for its quietness, but the Hartz Dance School are breaking the norm by holding sessions at the Roman Way building.
It is good news for the library, which last year faced closure amid council cuts.
Principal teacher Lisa Hart said: "The building is great for the community and is very child-friendly too – the perfect location for us."

The proposition to construct a dance studio came from non-profit company Readers of Roman Way, who were formed when the library faced closure eighteen months ago.
An £8,000 grant was given to the company from Warwickshire County Council at the end of March to convert the available space into a dance studio.
Spring loaded floors, beams and dance equipment were then installed, before the dance school officially opened sessions on May 21.
Hartz Dance School – who were originally based in Dordon Social Club – will now rent the space out throughout the week, with this paying towards library maintenance.
Amanda Genge, Readers of Roman Way secretary, said: "We were looking at ways to bring funds into the library and we thought this was a great, innovative way of opening the library to the community.
"The space is something we would love to develop so that community groups can use it too. Now that the studio is here, it's wonderful. Local schools visit us and they all want to see it."
The new base has been given rave reviews by the dance school's pupils.
Jade McCarthy, aged 11, who was been a part of the dance school since she was 5, said: "It's really good because on my breaks I can use the books and computers for my homework.
"I think the new studio is much better than our older one."
Mum Sam added: "The new location is more relaxed, because it's based in a child-friendly area. It's ideal for everyone."
