I FEEL I must write a letter of apology through your columns to the residents of Eringden in Stonydelph.

Sadly, my mother passed away in May and it was the family's responsibility to clear her property.

To enable us to do this, I hired a skip to dispose of any unwanted goods.

The skip company charged £95 to deliver a skip on Saturday, June 13, which they did, albeit four hours late and after numerous phone calls to them.

The skip was filled with great sadness, seeing all of our mother's belongings being thrown away (as much as possible was given to charity).

As instructed, I phoned the skip company the following Monday to request its collection and was told 'no problem we'll pick it up'.

It is now June 25 and the skip remains outside in a parking area for other residents.

I am very sorry for your inconvenience, I can assure you I have contacted the skip company three times.

Twice they were politely asked to remove it, twice they said 'yes we'll pick it up'.

The third time they have been told to remove it immediately – to which their reply was 'Yes, now I'll put you right at the bottom of the list'.

Well, at least we are on the list now!

On a lighter note, the family of the late Alma Overy would like to thank everybody for the kind messages of condolence we received.

And a very special 'thank you to Paddy and Sue, who we could not have managed without and were very special to my Mother.

Paddy became her second son who lived on the doorstep, always there to help.
