Swim team collects wins
TAMWORTH'S swimmers produced an impressive performance in the second round of the Mercian League at SnowDome pool.
They gained five first places, five second and nine third places and also achieved 13 personal bests.
Bryony Goodwin led the way in the 10-year age group, securing two excellent victories in breaststroke and butterfly.
Emily Milner swam well to secure second in breaststroke in a personal best while Hannah Goodeve claimed third in the freestyle.
The trio teamed up with Georgia Cook to secure second place in the medley relay.
For the boys, Dan Laverty was third in breaststroke and achieved a personal best for his backstroke swim.
Matthew Chadwick and Robert Mills collected personal bests in butterfly and freestyle.
Jemma Chadwick was a clear winner in the 12-year breaststroke after a superb personal swim.
Rhiannon Goodeve was second in freestyle in a personal best while Tom Milner was second in breaststroke.
Personal bests were provided from Robert Mills, Brandon Cooper and Farrah Hall.
Lucy Mills powered her way to two sensational wins in the 14-year age group, with success in the butterfly and freestyle – the former in a new best time.
Tom Milner, Thomas Horne, Jack Ford and Dean Treadwell only just missed another first from the medley relay. Ford was also third in butterfly. There were third places from Emma Pick in the breaststroke and Jenny Cooper in the backstroke . With additional help from Emily Goodwin, the girls achieved a further two relay thirds.
Finally, in the open age, Lauren Roe claimed third places in breaststroke and the individual medley, while Aby Adcock achieved a personal best in backstroke.
