Gary Mills says his Tamworth side were unbelievable.
THE super Lambs have caused their fair share of upsets since returning to the Conference last season.
Memorable days have seen them stun giants of the non-league game such as Oxford United, Wrexham and Mansfield Town as well as last season's champions Stevenage.
But no success has been as convincing as Saturday's win over arguably the biggest of them all – Luton Town.
Gary Mills' men produced a performance brimming with pride, passion and desire.
But there was far more to their display than that. They had bags of energy, produced excellent passing and movement and topped it off with three goals of the highest quality – efforts which would have graced any level.
As an attacking force, the Lambs seem to have far more about them this season.
Whether it's the pace of Alex Rodman and Danny Thomas, the willingness of Kyle Perry in the lone striker role or the ability of the excellent Daniel Bradley to get forward into the box, Tamworth are exciting to watch.
It's just a shame that more fans in the town won't buy into what Mills and his men are producing on the pitch.
The Lambs boss was forced to rebuild his side this summer but his new vibrant team seem to have carried on from where the class of 2009/10 left off – and have the potential to push on further.
Goals from Perry, Thomas and former Aston Villa trainee Bradley secured the victory with Tom Craddock providing the consolation for a shell-shocked Luton.
Mills said: "Make no mistake, we deserved this. It wasn't a fluke.
"It's a fantastic result for us and there's no getting away from that. I'm not going to play it down at all.
"Not only the result, but the performance was tremendous. Against a side like Luton, we were the stronger side and the players were unbelievable."
The home side took the lead on 11 minutes with a fine counter-attacking move.
Bradley set off on a marauding run from his own penalty area deep into the Luton half. The ball was worked to Richard Tait, whose inviting cross was powered home by Perry.
The Lambs almost doubled their advantage on 15 minutes when Tait's fine strike was tipped away by Luton keeper Kevin Pilkington.
The Hatters were struggling to create any chances of real significance, Claude Gnapka's shot that was blocked by Scott Barrow on the half-hour mark being their only effort of note.
At the other end, Rodman saw a scrambled effort hooked away at the second attempt by George Pilkington.
But the Hatters got back on level terms on 49 minutes when a throw from the left found its way through to Craddock in the box and he managed to create enough space to fire a low shot into the corner of the net.
Luton were now on top and Tamworth keeper Ross Atkins did well to save a powerful close-range effort from Matt Barnes-Homer on 50 minutes.
Tamworth gradually settled again and started to take more control.
Visiting keeper Pilkington was called into action to tip a dipping Rodman free-kick over on 68 minutes.
The Hatters were probing, without really threatening, and it was Tamworth who deservedly went in front on 78 minutes as Thomas hit a sweet left-foot shot into the corner from the edge of the box.
The Lambs killed off the game as a contest in the 94th minute when substitute Jake Sheridan released Bradley, who lashed a sublime shot past Pilkington.
