GOING into Saturday's game at Loughborough, we were looking at it as three points but clearly it didn't turn out like that.

We were disappointed with the way we played, especially in the first half, although to give them credit they hustled us and didn't let us settle.

But on the other hand we have to be happy because being two goals down with 20 minutes to go, a point is pretty good going.

Hopefully we will look back on it as a good point gained rather than two dropped and it won't come back to haunt us. With us being top, teams seem to raise their game against us and Loughborough certainly did. But it was strange because during the warm-up, we were knocking the ball around beautifully – we just didn't take that confidence into the game.

I've spoken about being brave before but sometimes it's not about the bravery of flying into tackles – it's about being brave enough to play your football under pressure.

I think that sometimes we are too quick to panic and go a bit direct when we should just put our foot on the ball.

On a personal note I was substituted on Saturday and although I was disappointed to come off, I was sacrificed to allow Duncan Horler to push forward – and he got the equaliser so it worked.

It wasn't one of my most effective performances but a lot of the lads could have had no complaints had they been taken off.

One man who did play well was Mark Branch – and it was good to see him back. Both our goals came from his set-pieces and when he is on form there are not many better flying down that left wing.

We lost our grasp on top spot with Mickleover beating Glapwell, a draw would have been ideal for us.

But if we win on Saturday we could find ourselves top again – and we've already beaten Lincoln twice in the league and trophy this season.

We're taking nothing for granted, though, as while Lincoln have struggled, they won 4-0 at the weekend.
