A TAMWORTH band's music which was uploaded onto Youtube was spotted by a US film director and has been used for his latest Hollywood film.

Now the rock ambient band Structures, who recorded the track in the town, said they are "proud" that the music was selected – which will be used at the climax of the film Terrible Angels.

"We're proud – and we're speaking with the same director to commission another track for his next movie," the band told the Herald this week.

"Potentially millions of new people will hear our music, and since putting the track on Last.FM and Youtube the feedback has been phenomenal. It's been downloaded over 10,000 times. Good music spreads like fire."

The band created the instrumental track Victory (My Heart Is No Longer Mine to Give), which was engineered at Tamworth's Sinewave Studios.

But the band said they were "taken by surprise" when they got the call from the film production company back in February, before negotiating the deal in a three-hour meeting on Skype.

"The best part of it was that Anthony Pierce the director and Una Jo Blade, the lead actress, had found inspiration in our work whilst recording but couldn't track down who'd written the song," the band said.

"Once Anthony told us how it was his inspiration for the end of the film, his muse, we were blown away and the answer could only be yes."

In the film Madsen plays the role of a detective who is sent to investigate the story of a convicted prostitute and drug dealer, who claims she was kidnapped by a man who buried people alive.

The band – which features Ian on guitar and vocals, E on guitar, DJ Styles on bass and Jon on drums – is due to release its second album in the summer.
