'Kicked' Tamworth cat dies from injuries
A DEVASTATED cat owner from Glascote says she is heartbroken after her cat was killed after being "kicked or stamped on" last week.
Louise Bennett, aged 41, told the Herald this week her cat named Sky had suffered a broken rib cage in the attack last Wednesday evening.

But despite being rushed to the vet for emergency treatment, the nine-year-old cat died at the weekend.
Louise, of Signal Walk, said: "We put her out on Wednesday night. When we got up on Thursday morning I was going shopping and we called her to come in.
"She's always at the front but she never came in."
She added: "She was around the corner in next door's garden curled up in the dirt in her own mess.
"She was struggling to breathe. I just panicked."
The cat was rushed to Pool House Vets in Lichfield. It was originally thought the cat had suffered the injuries after being hit by a car.
"They examined her and said they were going to do an X-ray on her," Louise said.
"At first they thought it was a car accident, but she has never gone away far from the front, in all these years.
"Someone had violently kicked her in the chest or stamped on her."
The cat was sedated and given oxygen but died on Sunday.
Louise said: "I am very angry to think that someone could do that. She was such a beautiful animal.
"I'm horrified they would walk up to an innocent animal and do that and leave her to die. It makes me feel sick."
She added: "She was so badly injured she could not even get into her own porch.
"We have had her from a kitten.
"You get so attached. She was the sort of cat that would go up to anyone."
Louise, who has lived at the property with her husband for 17 years, said she now wanted to warn other cat owners in the area.
"There are other pet owners here and I would just like them to be aware – people are so vicious."

“I would just like to say to paul wayne, regards to my cat sky who was killed by member of the public..Back in august..That im sorry you are having issues with other peoples cats,I too have issues with other peoples cats in my back garden,But i would not say i would, or dream taking things into my own hands.Like stamp or kick an animal to death.
My cat sky never used anyone else's garden to do her business, only her own front garden,of which cleaned up every day.
I am a responsible cat owner, and No one had the rights to do this, she was my property, and part of my family.
How would you like someone to come along and do that to property of yours,im sure you would think a little different then.
There is no excuse for animal cruelty.”

“As someone who's garden is repeatedly treated like a public toilet by a large number of other peoples, and stray cats... As someone who has spent a fortune on ineffective remedies and repellants... As someone who is sick and tired of having to inspect the grass before setting foot on it, or mowing it... I'm afraid I agree with the sentiment, but think the method should have been quicker and less painful.”

“I am lost for words how any member of our human race could be so cruel to do this to such a defenceless animal. How can they walk the streets knowing they hurt and tormented this poor animal, then bascally left it in pain to die a miserable and painful death. I wonder if your mother would still be proud to admit you belong to her if she knew what you had done.
Lets just hope that the justice system locates who you are and deals with you in a way you deserve. You should never be allowed to have an animal of your own, you are just a low life with no morals and deserve all that is coming to you and I am sure karma will win in the end. R.I.P. Sky”
