Watching the box takes mind off my legs

This is Tamworth

ANOTHER week, another weigh-in... and I gained a pound.

I knew I would gain, I knew it hadn't been the best of weeks.

But I stayed at the meeting, felt encouraged, ended up acquiring an exercise bike, and with a little help from sons I have now started using it.

I have managed two days doing 15 minutes each time, and hope to build up the time over the next few days, depending on what is on TV, as I cycle and watch the box to pass the time.

It's surprising how quickly time goes when it's something you enjoy watching.

It certainly stops you thinking about how your legs feel!

Got my scales and weighing sorted out, I now know that you don't get much pasta for your points, in fact you get very little unless you have a lot of points to use.

I am going to try egg noodles and see how that goes.

Jacket potatoes and soup have made a comeback into my meals, and I'm using eggs most days in some way.

Not quite got back in salad stuff, it goes off so quickly, and it seems such shame to waste it.

Not long off the holiday, I have actually started buying in the stuff to take with us – I mustn't forget to put some jelly sachets in, my favourite mainstay on the pudding front.

I hope the French label their food so I can get low-fat yoghurts. Youngest son isn't coming with us, so that will cut the food bill down, and we can both eat healthily and low fat, as hubby needs to lose a few pounds too.

And if we get in the pool, he may get some much-needed exercise, as will I.

So fingers crossed for good food and good weather.
