Wheelers rise to the summit
CURDWORTH Wheelers edged into top place in Tamworth and District Table Tennis League Division One, writes Nigel Thompson
The Wheelers saw off Wilnecote Raiders with a 6-4 home win.

Ian Ferguson won all his matches without dropping a set.
He was ably assisted by Dawn Sagoo with a brace and the pair also won the doubles.
Steve Atkinson played well for the Raiders, claiming a double.
The Wheelers then went on to crush two-man Hopwas Jokers 10-0 away from home.
Sagoo, Rob Sheldon and Leigh Bradford were unbeaten.
Second-placed Netherseals had a convincing 8-2 triumph at home to Wilnecote Raiders.
Jason Hadley claimed a hat-trick of wins with Danny Sullivan and Matt Satchwell adding pairs.
Greenacres Retros thumped Lichfield Kings and Queens 9-1.
Andy Jackson and Paul Adams scored maximums for the Retros.
In Division Two, Kingsbury Tornadoes beat a below strength Lichfield Tigers 10-0.
Karl Oliver, Dave Morrell and Alan McCloughlan were simply too strong.
Rugby Club Kings, meanwhile, took a couple of points off Netherseal Birch, going down 8-2.
Colin Bean and Ron Simpson chipped in with singles against the impressive Birch team.
Richard Rose secured three wins, supported by two wins each from Charles Goodall and Graham Clarke.
Division Three leaders Lichfield Jets won 8-2 at Kingsbury Rockets in a 40-set classic.
Cameron Sykes won all his matches, as did Mike Smith.
Netherseal Cedar secured a 9-1 triumph over Kingsbury Cruisers but the scoreline does not do justice to the efforts put in by the Kingsbury side as five of the matches went to the fifth set.
Mick Sherratt and Roger Whiting scored maximums and Graham Clarke a double for Cedar.
Burntwood Hawks were no match for third-placed TYC Lambs, going down 10-0 away from home.
Brothers James and Rob Shaw plus Matt Thompson put in fine performances for the Lambs.
Tamyouth China Whites drew with Lichfield Barons despite John Henson hitting a maximum for the home side. John Kinson won twice for the Whites.
In Division Four, leaders Lichfield Top Spinners strolled to a 10-0 home win over Kingsbury Challengers with Jake Westwood, Jack Hill and Euan Hammond all scoring trebles.
Second-placed Burntwood Juniors A kept up the pressure on the Top Spinners by winning 10-0 against TYC Kenya.
Daniel Cubley, Stephen Sutton and Chris Bullock were all on target for the juniors.
TYC Terrorisers had a 9-1 home win against Kingsbury All Stars. Lauren Evans scored a treble.
Michael McNaught also took three wins for the Terrorisers.
TYC Noobs triumphed 8-2 over Kingsbury Villains.
Michael and David Bree both secured hat-tricks and Zorro Kasarge added one.
Brandon Hinds and Charlie Birchley took a point apiece for the Villains.
Kingsbury Noodles defeated Lichfield Lions 7-3 despite fielding two players. Jess Granfield and Abbie Hemming won all their matches.
