Zack draws inspiration from fun side of Games for new book
A FORMER pupil at Whittington County Primary school is going for gold with the launch of his latest book – a children's book about the history of the Olympics.
Illustrator Zack Mclaughlin has painted a series of informative and often humorous images from Olympic events across the centuries which offers youngsters some fun facts from the Games.
Zack told the Herald: " I was delighted to be asked to produce the illustrations for this book as I now live in the very city where the 2012 Games are to be hosted.
"There are a lot of fun things to learn in this book like the strange fact that after the 1924 Games the Italian and Hungarian fencing teams settled a scoring dispute with a real-life duel."
