Sinfonia's show

Thursday, November 13, 2008, 09:00

AFTER weeks of ballyhoo over the US presidential elections you might think you have had enough of things American.

But the music the States have inspired is something else.

And Lichfield Sinfonia is pleased to present a concert with an American theme, including tunes from West Side Story, by Bernstein, and Gershwin's An American in Paris.

It finishes with Dvorak's New WorldSymphony (the one made famous by the Hovis advert).

The concert is on Sunday, November 23, in Lichfield's Guildhall, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £6.50 (£5 concessions) on the door.

Lichfield Sinfonia is an amateur orchestra and does not make a profit – visit www.lichfieldsinfonia.co.uk to find out more.

Each week, we bring you the latest screening schedules at local cinemas. Select a cinema in the drop-down box, for film show times and cinema details.
