This Museum site was once home to the Valley Colliery, a training pit for thousands of young men starting work in the local coal industry. Now the pit has gone and holds 30 acres of green space at the gateway of Hednesford Hills Nature Reserve. The Museum holds the former colliery corn store, where pit ponies feed was kept, temporary exhibitions and permanant galleries.
