All the fun of the country fair
VISITORS to Clifton Campville dodged the showers as this year's country fair got underway.
The Coneyberry Millennium Green was packed with guests who had come to enjoy the day's entertainment on Saturday, including children's races, a fun dog show, horse dancing and a display by Morris dancers.

Visitors to the show enjoyed a spectacular fly past from a Lancaster Bomber.

Warwickshire beagles and the Atherstone Hunt also made appearances, while the Nuneaton Dog Training Club showed just how obedient their pooches were.
Foodies were in heaven with more than 40 stalls to browse, with bread rolls and burgers to enjoy, a chocolate fountain with lip-smacking marshmallows and delicious fresh fruit, with real ale served at the bar to wash it all down.
More than 300 punnets of strawberries were shifted on the day and the hungry crowds wolfed 1200 hot sandwiches.
And there was even a pudding to come, with a host of cakes baked by volunteers in the village.
But perhaps the highlight of the day was a flypast from a Lancaster Bomber, which did three circuits of the field to the strains of The Dambuster's March.
"In the afternoon there was one shower of rain, but the skies cleared and the sun came out for a fantastic display by a Lancaster Bomber," said Eve Bainbridge, secretary of the Coneyberry Millennium Green Trust.
"It was a really moving moment in a busy happy day.
"Many thanks must go to all of our helpers, far too many to mention by name, but without whom the fair would not have happened.
"Thanks to them we made more than £7,000 profit, which is shared with the Village Hall."
