A DREAM came true for little Jasmine Dowd when her bedroom was transformed into a pink paradise fit for a princess.
Six-year-old Jasmine suffers from kidney failure and has to go on dialysis for 12 hours every night.
And to celebrate her bravery the youngster was whisked away last weekend while the Make-A-Wish Foundation worked their pink magic on transforming her bedroom.
Mum Claire Holloway contacted the charity, which grants wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses, after seeing Poppy Guilder's wish for a pink play house become a reality.
Jasmine then met with the charity volunteers to discuss her top three choices.
"Her first wish was to go to Disneyland but we can't get the insurance for Jasmine's dialysis machine," Claire said.
"She then asked for a pony! But the foundation don't do animals.
"This was her third choice – to have a proper little girl's room. "
To enable the work to go on undetected at her Shuttington home, Jasmine stayed with her grandpa for the weekend.
The grand unveiling was on Sunday (November 9) – and it was a total shock for little Jasmine.
"I think it looks very good," Jasmine told the Herald of her new room. "And I like the flowers climbing up the walls. There's room for all my toys.
"I was really surprised to see it."
Doctors discovered Jasmine has kidney disease when she was just two years old. Her condition deteriorated last Christmas when she suffered end stage renal failure and she will go on the transplant list in January 2009.
Jasmine attends Newton Regis Primary where careful consideration has to be given to her dietary needs as she can only drink 500mls of liquid a day and must avoid phosphate-rich foods such as green, leafy vegetables, peas, beans, nuts and chocolate.
