A MAN found dead in an Atherstone road earlier this month has been named as Terry James Clarke of Dordon.

The body of Mr Clarke (33) of Whitehouse Road, was found in Coleshill Road, Atherstone, in the early hours of Sunday November 2.

Mr Clarke's family released the following statement:

"To say that Terry lived a larger and more fulfilling life than most would not be an exaggeration. He had recently turned his life around and was making all who knew him proud.

"He was a fantastic father, son, and brother. We are all devastated by losing someone who we cherished with all our hearts. He will be missed not only by his mother and four siblings, but by his long term partner, children and all his nieces and nephews who will carry his memory onwards."

Police were called to the scene at around 5.30am on November 2, by a motorist who discovered Mr Clarke's body lying in the road.

A 19-year-old man from the Atherstone area was later arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was taken into custody at Nuneaton for questioning.

He was released on police bail pending further inquiries.
