Reward for safe return of grey Wilnecote parrot
The distinctive African Grey parrot, which has bright red tail feathers, was last seen by its owners on July 19.
"I was on my way to work and my daughter was waving goodbye to me and it flew out of the door," owner Mike Coats told the Herald this week.
"It's a very nice bird and is very deeply missed. He was part of the family.
"He spoke quite a lot and used to chatter with the dog – he was full of character."
The family has posted leaflets and put up posters across the area in the hope that he has been spotted by local residents.
They also believe the bird, which is only 18 months old and named Austin, may have been spotted by a local resident near Brookside Way.
Mike said: "The bird has got an identity chip and we have contacted local vets.
"It was only a baby, considering how long they can live. He was my wife's; she had always wanted a parrot."
If anyone can help trace the parrot telephone 07976 132835 or 07811 349390.
