Winner of Herald's and Odeon competition
After spending her birthday in a wheelchair following a serious skiing accident, Diane, of Upper Gungate, will enjoy a birthday party with more than 150 of her friends at the special film screening this month.
"This is fantastic, I just really wanted to win it," she said.
"This will be a great birthday present and it's a great way to say thank you to everybody."
It was last March when Diane broke her leg badly while on a skiing holiday in France. It eventually transpired that she had ripped her cruciate ligament. She needed an operation and physiotherapy to recover.
But when she ripped the cartilage in her leg this year she knew the problem hadn't been fixed properly.
She underwent another operation, which this time involved her having bone grafts using cells grown in a German laboratory.
The recovery process required her to have more physio and spend 12 weeks in a wheelchair, including her 40th birthday on July 3.
Diane is now finally on the mend, and after a difficult time she plans to go all-out to celebrate winning this competition.
"I just didn't want to celebrate my 40th at the time.
"I've warned everybody it's not going to be quiet. We are really, really going for it."
Diane and 150 of her friends will all be dressing up for the special screening on October 19.
Everyone will either wear ABBA costumes or be dressed up as if they were attending a movie premier.
