Philip Tew has not been seen since driving away in his white Renault Clio from an address in Wilnecote at around 6pm.
The teenager’s car was found abandoned on a farm track off Overwoods Road, Tamworth, at today by members of his family who contacted police.
Officers are in the area and have called in the force’s helicopter to help in the search.
Police are becoming increasingly concerned for Philip’s safety and welfare and are appealing for anyone who may know his whereabouts, or Philip himself, to contact them urgently.
Philip is white, 5ft 8ins tall with short spiked brown hair. When he disappeared he was wearing very distinctive clothing including red work trousers, a grey T-shirt and white trainers.
