Nash is hero for title contenders

CURDWORTH Wheelers' 8-2 win over TYC B's and Co cemented their place in the top two in Division One.

Another superb treble from Gary Nash plus doubles for Ada Jones and Dawn Sagoo secured the triumph.

Paul Bowler and Stafford Brookes replied with a point apiece for TYC.

Lichfield Kings and Queens went down 7-3 away to Greenacres Masters.

Andy Calloway was named the player of the match after a treble.

David Evans and Andy Bache offered good support with victories.

Kings and Queens secured three points thanks to a Di Brookes brace and a single from David Knight.

Greenacres Retros enjoyed an 8-2 victory over Wilnecote Raiders.

For the Retros, Andy Jackson and Stephen Smith both hit three with Steve Smith adding a point. Steve Atkinson and Martin Hodget took single wins for the Raiders.

In Division Two, Greenacres Crusaders romped to a 10-0 victory away to the Rugby Club Oddballs. They are 15 points clear at the top of the league after six matches.

Carl Mountjoy, Ted Rowe and Stuart Spalding all gained maximums.

Second placed TYC Tigers were beaten 7-3 by Netherseal Birch in a 43 set epic.

Richard Rose won all his sets for Birch, Mike Harker added two and Nigel Webster claimed a single.

The Tigers bit back with a double from Alex Fallon and a single from Ryan Birbeck.

Kingsbury Tornadoes enjoyed a 6-4 win over Kingsbury Pumas.

Dave Morrell, Alan Mcloughlin and Ian Routh all scored twice.

Daniel Granfield secured a maximum for the Pumas and then combined with Ben Musson to win 11-9 in the fifth to win the doubles.

The bottom of the table clash saw Kingsbury Crown defeat Rugby Club Kings 8-2 at home.

Nigel Thompson won all his matches for the Crowns with John Howell and John Lowe scoring doubles.

Colin Bean took a brace for Kings.

Lichfield Jets won 8-2 over TYC Lambs at the top of Division Three.

Cameron Sykes secured a maximum with Harry Emberson and Michael Smith adding doubles.

James Shaw clawed two points back for the Lambs.

Lichfield Barons drew with Kingsbury Cruisers away at Kingsbury.

Yuriy Slobodyk took two for the Barons helped by singles from Anand Kaila and John Henson and a point from winning the doubles.

Netherseal Cedar's match with Kingsbury Rockets also ended with honours even.

Roger Whiting took three wins for Cedar, John Pope added a single and the duo won the doubles.

Ronnie Woollaston and Keil Jones won two each for the Rockets, with Keiran Finnegan adding a single.

TYC China Whites edged a 6-4 away win over the Burntwood Hawks.

John Kinson's maximum proved decisive, supported by two wins from Pat Baker and one victory from Belinda Forster.

In Division Four, TYC Kenya took three points off high flying Lichfield Top Spinners.

Luke Clay won two for Kenya and Tom Hargreaves added a single.

Jake Westwood played well for the Spinners and won all his matches, Jack Hill added a double and Euan Hammond a point.

TYC Noobs enjoyed a 7-3 away win against Kingsbury All Stars.

Michael Bree was player of the match with three for the Noobs.

Kingsbury Challengers beat Kingsbury Villains 7-3. Daniel Morris was on target for the Challengers with his unbeaten hat-trick.
