Tamworth RFC under-15s

TAMWORTH lost out 24-14 to local rivals Spartans on Sunday.

Spartans scored a converted try early on the in the first half, but Tamworth hit back with a try from Charlie Hobson, well supported by Jon McKendrick and Ben Ridgard.

Spartans pulled ahead again late on the first half and stretched their lead in the second half.

Tamworth began to pressure their opponents with Leigh Boulton and man-of-the-match Dale Black impressing.

Good work from Ealey Montague and Joe Warrington meant Town were camped in the Spartans half and their endeavours were rewarded when Black launched an attack which Hobson finished, but it was too little, too late.

Tamworth RFC under-12s

TAMWORTH came from 14-0 down to emerge as winners of a tight game with Burton.

They won 21-14 with tries from Luke Lloyd (2) and Archie Ward. Lloyd also added three conversions.

Tamworth RFC under-11s

TAMWORTH RFC under-11s lost out 52-7 to local rivals Burton on Sunday.

In a game split into four quarters, Billy Smith scored and converted Tamworth's only try of the match.

Connor Banham impressed with his work rate and tackling.

Tamworth RFC under-eights

TAMWORTH produced an excellent performance to overcome local rivals Burton in two games.

They won the first game 10-6 but improved even more in game two, winning 7-3.

Darnell Needham was the star performer with 10 tries while Dan Hunt scored three.

Akron Rayworth-Brooks added two tries and Ethan Vickery crossed the line once.

Josh Vandenburg also scored a try, while Needham and Jack Jones were named players of the match.

Tamworth RFC under-sevens

TAMWORTH hosted Burton on Sunday and secured two wins and a draw from four games.

They won 6-4, 6-5 before drawing 8-8 and losing one game 4-1.

Try scorers were Samuel Fitzgerald (5), Jake Thomas (5), Ethan Dean (4), Ethan Spencer (3), Ethan Andrews (2) and Liam Saayman (2).

Fitzgerald, Spencer and Thomas were named players of the match.

Old Salts RFC under-14s

OLD Salts lost out 10-5 to Old Halesownians in the last eight of the North Midlands Plate.

A great try from Rodden, following a quickly-taken penalty from Lloyd, proved to be only a consolation in the end.

Meanwhile, Old Salts' under-16s and under-17s beat Warley 30-5 with four tries from Mordue.
